How to configure connection sharing on Energizer?
Today you can have an internet connection, notably via your Energizer, which can be included in your telephone plan.
Although you have the option of purchasing an internet dongle for your laptop when traveling, you have another solution that may prove to be less expensive: modem mode or connection sharing from your Energizer. This system, available on your Energizer, is widely used and very practical, especially when you need internet on your computer when traveling or when a friend urgently needs an internet connection. We will explain how to configure modem mode on Energizer via Wifi, using your USB cable and finally via Bluetooth.
Configure modem mode on your Energizer via Wifi
Before starting this operation, make sure you are connected to your Wifi network and that this connection works correctly in order to activate the WiFi connection sharing on your Energizer. First, first go to the settings of your Energizer then click on the “Wireless and network” or “Wifi” section. Then press “More” where several actions will be displayed before your eyes. On this section, click on “Connection Sharing” or “Mobile Network Sharing” or “Connection Sharing and Mobile Access Point”, the title may vary depending on the version of Android installed on your Energizer.
Finally, you just have to click on “Mobile access point” where you will be able to configure your WiFi access point from your Energizer by entering a password.
This will allow you to protect your connection. When you connect your Energizer to your computer or to a friend's mobile, the password will be required so that an outside person cannot take advantage of your connection. The advantage of modem mode via Wifi is that you can rename your Energizer's Wifi connection so that it is easier to find.
Configure modem mode on your Energizer using a USB cable
This method enables the connection sharing of your Energizer via a USB cable plugged into your PC. First, make sure your mobile networks are enabled for modem mode to work properly and plug the USB cable from your Energizer into your computer.
As in the previous section, the first steps are similar.
First, start by going to your Energizer's settings where you will click on the “Wireless and networks” section. Then, you just have to click on “Connection sharing” or “Mobile network sharing” or “Connection sharing and mobile access point”, the name may vary as in the previous paragraph. It is from here that things change with regard to Wifi mode. Tap “USB tethering”. You have finished connection sharing. With this method, you do not need a password because your Energizer is directly connected to your computer.
Warning ! Activating mobile data and using it on a computer will cause your data and data plan to drop dramatically, so choose Wifi.
Configure modem mode on Energizer via Bluetooth
We will end this article by configuring the modem mode on your Energizer via Bluetooth. Before you begin handling, make sure that the Bluetooth of your Energizer is turned on. In addition, activate the Bluetooth of the device to which you want to share the connection. As in the previous paragraphs, the first steps are similar.
First of all, first go to the settings of your Energizer then go to the “Wireless and network” section. From there you will need to click on “Connection Sharing” or “Mobile Network Sharing” or “Connection Sharing and Mobile Hotspot”, the category name may vary.
And now choose the “Via Bluetooth” mode. Once here, you just have to choose one of the devices that is displayed in the devices activated by Bluetooth and then pair the two devices.
It's over, connection sharing has been established. However, we recommend that you use this method as a last resort because it does not transmit on as high a frequency as the other two methods.
