How to import your contacts to your Amazon Fire Phone
We will see in this tutorial how import your contacts to your Amazon Fire Phone. Contacts are a very important feature of your smartphone.
This is how you may want to import them from another device to your Amazon Fire Phone, to make the most of the features offered by contacts.
We will see how to import contacts to your Amazon Fire Phone from another device on the one hand, from your Google account located in the 'Cloud' on the other hand, from CSV files that can be edited with a spreadsheet such as Excel, and finally from files in VCF format or vCard files.
Import your contacts from another device to your Amazon Fire Phone
To import contacts from another device, you must first have saved them in your SIM card or an SD card. We invite you to refer to our tutorial on contact backups to do this. Once this backup is done, you will need to put the SIM or SD card in your new Amazon Fire Phone.
Once done, go to the category Contacts of your Amazon Fire Phone.
In this menu, you can then press the 'Settings' key, located at the bottom right of your Amazon Fire Phone.
An 'Import' option from the SIM card or the Memory card will then be available to you, press it according to your backup mode.
Follow the onscreen instructions and your contacts will be imported to your Amazon Fire Phone.
Import your contacts from Google Cloud to your Amazon Fire Phone
It is a little known option but very interesting when you know how to handle it: import your contacts from the Cloud to your Amazon Fire Phone. To do this, go to the 'Settings' menu, accessible from the home screen of your Amazon Fire Phone, then in 'Account and Synchronization'. Once there, click on your Google account.
This will open a new window which will allow you to check the synchronization of contacts, emails and calendars.
Choose what you want to activate.
Import your contacts from a CSV file to your Amazon Fire Phone
If your files are on a CSV file, then to import them to your Amazon Fire Phone, you will need to go through an import on your Gmail account. Once in your Gmail account, click on 'Contacts' above the compose email button. Then click on 'More actions' and finally on 'Import'. Choose the file from which you want to import your contacts, and validate. Once the operation is finished, you can synchronize any Amazon Fire Phone with your Gmail account as mentioned in the previous paragraph.
Import your contacts with a VCF file on your Amazon Fire Phone
One last option to import your contacts to your Amazon Fire Phone is to use VCF files. This option will allow you, along with the CSV files, to share your contact lists from your Amazon Fire Phone as well. As in the first paragraph of this article, go to the 'Import / Export' section of the 'Contacts' folder of your Amazon Fire Phone.
From there, click on 'Import' then choose the VCF format. Once you have validated the operation and having selected the source VCF file, you can import all your contacts to your Amazon Fire Phone.
Conversely, you can export contacts to make a backup on your Amazon Fire Phone.
