How to import your contacts on your Google Pixel

Import your contacts from another device to your Google Pixel

Once this backup is done, you will need to put the SIM or SD card in your new Google Pixel. Once done, go to the category Contacts of your Google Pixel. In this menu, you can then press the 'Settings' key, located at the bottom right of your Google Pixel. An 'Import' option from the SIM card or the Memory card will then be available to you, press it according to your backup mode.

Follow the onscreen instructions and your contacts will be imported to your Google Pixel.

Import your contacts from Google Cloud to your Google Pixel

It is a little known option but very interesting when you know how to handle it: import your contacts from the Cloud to your Google Pixel. To do this, go to the 'Settings' menu, accessible from the home screen of your Google Pixel, then in 'Account and Synchronization'. Once there, click on your Google account.

This will open a new window which will allow you to check the synchronization of contacts, emails and calendars.

Import your contacts from a CSV file to your Google Pixel

If your files are on a CSV file, then to import them on your Google Pixel, you will need to go through an import on your Gmail account. Once in your Gmail account, click on 'Contacts' above the compose email button. Then click on 'More actions' and finally on 'Import'. Choose the file from which you want to import your contacts, and validate. Once the operation is finished, you can synchronize any Google Pixel with your Gmail account as mentioned in the previous paragraph.

Import your contacts with a VCF file on your Google Pixel

One last option to import your contacts to your Google Pixel is to use VCF files. This option will allow you, along with the CSV files, to share your contact lists from your Google Pixel as well. As in the first paragraph of this article, go to the 'Import / Export' section of the 'Contacts' folder of your Google Pixel. From there, click on 'Import' then choose the VCF format. Once you have validated the operation and having selected the source VCF file, you can import all your contacts on your Google Pixel. Conversely, you can export contacts to make a backup on your Google Pixel.
